Over the past few years we've helped rehome numerous cats which have turned up on our doorstep!
My mum's house in Leeds backs onto an allotment and together with the Leeds branch of the Cats Protection League we have a neuter and release scheme for the cats who find themselves loose on the allotments, if possible we try to rehome them with loving families of their own.
These are a few of the ones who've touched our lives so far:
Lucy
Tortoiseshell Shorthair Female
Spud
(Who we believe is the father of Tosca & Suzie)
Black & White Shorthair Male
Gin Gin
Ginger Tabby Longhair Male
Tosca
Black & White Shorthair Female
Now rehomed and living in Scotland
Chewy Sulivan, Thomas & Smudge
Tosca's Kittens - Tosca brought her kittens to my mums doorstep when they were only 4 weeks old. Her neighbour kindly took Tosca and the kittens in and we looked after them in shifts until they were old enough to rehome.
All 3 kittens have now been rehomed
Tosca with her kittens
Suzie (Tosca's sister)
Black & White Shorthair Female
When Suzie had her kittens we arranged for her to be neutered and while she was recovering from her operation she stayed with my mum.... she never left and is now a permenant resident who rarely ventures outdoors and when she does it's only as far as the neighbours -
which is where all her kittens live!
Suzie in her usual spot by the radiator in the attic
Sophie, Blackie & Ebony
Suzie's kittens
All 3 are now living with my mum's neightbour and his other cat Sooty
